The forms of short films. Report on Italian shorts

This survey report on the state of the arts of the short film constitutes the premise to the work of the Short Center. It is, firstly, a critical description of the scene, starting from the classic short and moves on to more fringe experiences like animation and videoart. In the background, maybe there is the assumption, if not the awareness, of a medialogic system overall of brief forms, which seem to develop in self-contained compartments. In reality, there is a game of interferences, blends, swapping of people, styles, techniques, even of resources, which are much denser than they would actually appear. There is a structural link. We are before the other face, essential to our media system.
